“Mikey Hall’s yoga has been amazingly transforming for me. Not only physically but mentally. I’m strong, long, and able to find peace when things get crazy. He’s been so much fun and I’m always learning something new. No two classes are the same. And just when I think I’ve mastered something, he creates a new challenge to work towards so I’m having fun too. He’s a gentle soul with very strong method and has been a pleasure to study with.”

“Opting to do Iyengar yoga with Mikey was easily one of the best decisions that I have made in the last few years. Never would I have imagined that I would take to it so well. I thoroughly enjoy the classes. Mikey′s style of balancing strictness with humour is what makes the class. He makes you want to try your hardest but still maintain the enjoyment. My favourite moments are, whilst in the midst of an excruciating pose, Mikey will say “smiling and enjoying… put your tongue back in your mouth”. It′s great. Since I began classes with Mikey I have experienced noticeable improvements in my body′s core strength and flexibility and a drastic reduction in my injuries suffered from tennis as I always do yoga prior to playing. My love of Mikey′s classes have encouraged me to come to Monday and Sunday classes too. I am not surprised to hear how far some of the students travel to attend class as it is most definitely worth it. I′m excited to see what levels I can reach over the years as I become more and more experienced. Thank you Mikey!”

“I am already a qualifed yoga teacher and I can honestly say that I learned more from a few months with Mikey than I did on my teacher training course. Mikey brings his experience, energy and passion to Yoga. He’s been my motivation and inspiration, his challenging postures have softened by body and my mind. Mikey’s classes have been a place where I’ve come to love my body the way it is and I’ve learned through the asanas that acceptance and letting go will allow me to go further. I look forward to my weekly class with Mikey, it has become my path to physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.”

“Years of intense violin practice had taken their toll on my back and shoulders, leaving me with poor alignment and increasing stiffness. A year of classes with Mikey fixed all that, leaving my shoulders aligned and free, and my spine in better shape than ever. I now have great posture and have refined my violin technique to avoid similar problems arising in the future.”

“I love yoga with Mikey. I think my mum and I would fall to pieces without it.”

“I really feel so grateful that I was able to carry on my practice during my pregnancy with someone that I really trusted. I knew you were knowledgeable and wouldn’t let me do anything to hurt myself or my baby (Manny). I felt such a strong bond with my baby while I was doing the class, which sometimes felt so overwhelming I could have cried with joy.

As for the birth- I strongly believe that yoga made my delivery so much easier. It was actually quite pleasurable- in a strange way. I feel yoga helped the positioning of the baby and kept me calm and increased my fitness levels. It is for this reason that I will always be grateful to Mikey’s yoga class.”

“Mikey Hall has been our yoga instructor from January 2007 until our move away from London in March 2011. Throughout this time, he has been our principal teacher and has taught us on a very regular basis at least two times a week. Since our move to Germany, we have visited him in London to practice with him from time to time, as we have established a strong teacher-student relationship over the close to five years that we have worked together.

My husband and I started to practice yoga in 2001. We first took private lessons in 2002, and were recommended Mikey Hall by our previous yoga teacher who immigrated to Australia. We have been very satisfied with his instruction during the entire period that we have seen him.

Mikey has an extremely solid theoretical background and extensive practical experience through his own practice and a long history of teaching. He has practiced with Mr Iyengar in Pune and has assisted him in the publication of his book Yoga Wisdom and Practice, where Mikey demonstrated the poses for the pictures.

Mikey has guided us according to our physical needs through a variety of different types of practice, ranging from intensely physical to more restorative elements. Initially we have worked together in a flowing sequence, but to address our changing physical needs we have moved on to an Iyengar style practice.

Mikey has an hands-on approach and will demonstrate, observe and adjust throughout each of the lessons. His adjustments are always precise and executed – though strong – with respect for the student’s ability. We have made steady progress during our years with him, developing our abilities from more basic to more advanced poses and sequences. Our practice together remained interesting and varied throughout. We have not had any injuries.

Mikey taught Julia throughout three pregnancies successfully, and was very diligent in the first months post a Caesarian birth to gently bring Julia’s practice back to the pre-pregnancy sequences. In the process, various family members have started to participate in our yoga sessions. While Bjorn continued with his full-on practice, Julia’s father, aged in his late 60s joined in, and the increasing number of little girls naturally enjoyed our family yoga time together during weekends. Mikey was never perturbed by the children being around during practice, and infact managed to build strong bonds with them, while they picked up basic positions when imitating their parents. Sometimes we were all in hand and headstands, while Mikey build towers for our kids out of yoga blocks. We have never hesitated to recommend Mikey, and our friends have also been very satisfied with his instruction.

Mikey has been a very pleasant teacher to work with. He is always smiling and in a good mood, enthusiastic and optimistic. He fosters a friendly yet focused atmosphere during the lessons. We have enjoyed him throughout the period that he was regularly instructing us. We continue to miss him and always look forward to reconnecting with him when in the same city.”
